Musical Assistive Technology
Musical Assistive Technology introduces music educators to instruments, controllers, and apps that can expand access to music making. Created by Kevin Droe, this handout explores tools that respond to touch, movement, breath, and creative experimentation, including Skoog, OddBall, Launchpad, AUMI, and Koala Sampler. Clear descriptions and resource links help teachers explore possibilities for performing, improvising, sampling, and creating beats. An adapted guitar setup and planning prompts encourage educators to connect technology with each learner’s strengths, interests, and musical choices. The handout also includes discontinued tools as examples of approaches to access, with product information reflecting the September 2026 source document.
